I may have gotten a little over excited when I discovered there was a Wilko in the town I do my shopping in. I know most towns have Wilko but I honestly had no idea I'd been so close to one before!! So basically Wilko stocks Essence Cosmetics, a brand I became familiar with whilst living in Switzerland. We still spend time going to Switzerland still however it's been a few months and I was missing my regular 'Essence Fix'.......I think I've made up for it though! I'm the first to admit I may have spent more then planned but once I found the Essence stand was well stocked my options were endless! As you can see I came home with a variety of makeup and nail products.
Now where to start? Let's look at the nail products.
First up are some Nail Art Stickers (£1.30) and the Tattoo Nail Art Liner (£2) I love nail art but due to work and school commitments I get little time to sit doing my own freehand nail art. These stickers are a quick and easy way to have trendy nails in no time at all. I also picked up some polishes too, two from 'The Nudes' collection and one 'The Gel Nail Polish' which are pictured above. Working left to right I have 02 I Nude It, 03 Give Me Nude, Baby! and 11 Nude, Dos, Tres! All have swatched beautifully so I'm looking forward to getting some wear out of these. Staying on the nail topic I also bought two nail treatments from the Studio Nails range, Ultra Nail Repair (£2) and All in One Complete Care (£1.80) as well as a Colour Booster Base Coat. Now I've no idea how this will work but at £1.70 it's worth testing out. Onto eyeshadows....I have seen alot of images of the 'All About Roses' (£4) palette so I was pleased to see this in stock. The palette contains the most beautiful pink, purple and cream shades which are a mix of matte and metallic finishes. They are super pigmented and soft to the touch, so naturally I'm looking forward to getting creative with these! I'm not normally one for single eyeshadows but these two looked amazing and swatched wonderfully in store (yes I had masses of makeup up my arm!). The basic Essence Eyeshadow (£1.60) is in the shade 18 All I Need which is a mink colour with a slight shimmer. The other single eyeshadow is a 3D Eyeshadow (£2.80) in the colour 01 Irresistable Fox-Trott. This is a duo eyeshadow containing a shimmery peach and bronze colour. These can be use dry or wet, for a more intense finish. Again both single eyeshadows are super pigmented as you can see from my photos.
Next up I have the Multi-Action Volume Mascara (£2.50), which promises extra volume, length and perfect separation. Who doesn't love a volume mascara, I'm excited to try this out and see how it wears during my long days! Also the Make Me Brow eyebrow gel (£2.50) which I'm told is a dupe for the Benefit Gimme Brow that I love...lets see how these compare?
And finally, two lip products. 05 Cool Nude Long Lasting Lipstick (£2.30) and the Long Lasting Lipliner (£1.50) in 08 Girl Next Door that I found was the perfect match for the lipstick. Both are worn above and I have to say the pigmentation is amazing, and yes they are a nude colour - shock!
I'll be testing both of these out over the coming weeks and will report back on how all of these products worked.
What are your go-to Essence Cosmetics products?
Cool Nude looks good on you! And you picked some really lovely nail shades.
