I picked this up while in Heathrow T5 in August. Yes I’m aware it’s taken me some time to finally sit down and write about this foundation, but you won’t be disappointed!
Lets look at what YSL have to say about the Fusion Ink Foundation -
“FEELS LIKE A FEATHER. WEARS LIKE AN INK. NO MORE COMPROMISE. 24 hours of soft-matte perfection and comfort. Our exclusive fine-as-ink formula perfects the skin yet wears weightlessly all day. Never cakey or heavy. Feel the difference of all day perfection and freedom. SPF 18. Available in 21 shades”
This oozes sophistication, with its stunning gold lid and sleek glass bodied bottle. The lid lifts off to reveal a black twist off top that houses a long application wand. I’m not a huge fan of this style of applicator, my skin can be spot prone so I don’t like the idea of putting it directly on my face. I prefer to put the foundation on the back of my hand or onto a clean foundation brush.
Once I had the Fusion Ink Foundation out of the bottle, I discovered the most wonderful textured liquid ever! Seriously this foundation is smooth and light to the touch, yet it covers so well. I use my foundation brush or fingers to apply foundation, and with this one I found I had to work on one area at a time, as it does dry quite quickly. On my slightly oily/combination skin the foundation was wonderful; it doesn’t clog and sit in my pores, nor does it move around. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone with dry skin though, as I feel it would accentuate the dry skin.
The Fusion Ink shade I have is BR40. The BR stands for Beige Radiant which is a pink undertone. I found this shade was perfect for the summer months, however it’s a touch dark for my winter skin, so I’m going to be rematched for my winter colour when I get the chance.
You’ll find a generous 16 shades to choose from, so you should find your perfect match. Check out the YSL website or visit your local YSL counter for a colour consultation.
