We bought our Gruffalo Trunki back in 2013 and although at that point we hadn’t travelled with it, our daughter still spent a good deal of time scooting around the room on her Gruffalo. So, you can imagine our excitement when we booked a trip to Zurich and we could actually take it on its maiden voyage. What can I say - If like us you enjoy travelling and have a little one, then this is a must have item….it’s amazing.
First lets look at the design. The Trunki is a clever suitcase on sturdy wheels, made from the same lightweight durable plastic as adult suitcases. These can take a lot of rough treatment from 3 year olds! The Trunki is also shaped to allow little bottoms to sit on it around airports and they have ‘horn grips’ to hold onto and for stability. On the outside of the Trunki you’ll also find two lockable clips to secure your belongs, as well as top handles and a long detachable shoulder strap (which also doubles up as a ‘tow strap’).
The Trunki is super spacious, I was really surprised how much we could pack inside. It has a handy stretch pocket for putting smaller items into, plus one side has straps to secure larger items in and stop them from falling out (as you would find in adult suitcases).
The Gruffalo Trunki has been a huge hit with our little lady and we found it perfect for going through the airport. We had several other passengers comment on how great they are, some saying they had them for their children too.
Do you have a Trunki? If so which one and what do you think of it?
