ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzer

I’d seen a lot online about the E.L.F Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder so I was eager to try it out.  After a fair amount of research, I opted for the shade St Lucia as it seemed to suit fairer skin types like mine. Upon its arrival I took it out of the packaging and swatched it on the back of my hand. Now, I must say it takes a lot for me to be truly disappointed in a product, and sadly this one didn’t live upto my expectations. This is marketed as (and I quote)  “Creating a healthy and natural glow year-round”. So after trying this out several times, with different foundations (high-end and drugstore), here are my thoughts:-

On my skin, which is fair but in no way pale, it looked ridiculous! Obviously bronzer is used to create accents and contours around the cheekbones, temples and jaw line. Unfortunately this product did not seem to blend well, so I was left with a patchy looking face. Its consistency is very chalky and feels (and I hate to say it) cheap. When sweeping my bronzing brush over it I also found the bronzer had lots of fallout which just makes a brown mess everywhere - yuk!

The only good thing I have found in the E.L.F Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder is the blusher. It’s a gorgeous rose-gold shade that suits my skin tone now, and will also look just as nice in the summer months when I have a tan. I found the blusher lasted very well and didn’t fade out as the day went by.

Overall I’m disappointed and I can honestly say I won’t be using the bronzing powder from this palette, which is a shame as it’s such a waste.

Please let me know your thoughts on this product and let me know if you’ve had similar issues.
xx

  1. I have this and I can only get away with the blush. The bronzer just doesn't suit my skin tone at all which is a shame. Raspberrykiss xo
