'Boutique' at Sainsburys
‘Boutique’ at Sainsburys launched in September 2013 and I will be the first to put my hands up and say I’ve only just checked out their range! I’m not normally one to use supermarket own brand makeup. Call me a snob but I’ve always prefered to buy my named brands - a bit like buying Heinz baked beans. Anyhow, I’ve heard good things about ‘Boutique’ so I decided to have a little look to see what all the fuss was about.
Now first things first, ‘Boutique’ doesn’t contain a massive range of cosmetics, but it’s still early days so I’m sure more will be added over time. In my local Sainsburys many of the colours were out of stock, which shows people are buying the range. After a rather lengthy selection process I opted for pink……….pink lipgloss and pink nail polish - lets be honest you can’t go wrong with pink!
First up is the Boutique Lipgloss. The one I chose is called ‘Seal of Approval’ which is a nice candy pink. It’s not too sheer, so you can see that you're wearing colour on your lips. I found application to be very easy, the product glided on and the consistency wasn’t thick or sticky, in fact it was pretty good. I also bought the Boutique Nail Polish in ‘Tickled Pink’, which I would describe as a soft pastel pink. This I found to be a little on the watery side, so it did take three very thin layers to achieve the colour density I was expecting. However, once it was on the pink was lovely, lasted extremely well, and had a high shine finish.
Have you tried any of the ‘Boutique’ range?

JOHN FRIEDA LUXURIOUS VOLUME SET
Those of you who are frequent readers of my blog will know how much I love trying out new shampoos and conditioners. As a hairdresser I research hair care products from trade suppliers, manufacturers, and also from my clients’ own experiences. The temptation to test them all is overwhelming, so here’s my latest shampoo and conditioner set :)
‘John Frieda Luxurious Volume Touchably Full’
Both of these products are recommended for fine hair. The Touchably Full Shampoo cleanses hair without striping it of its natural oils and leaves the hair feeling soft. The Touchably Full Conditioner detangles the hair whilst leaving it manageable. These both have the same fragrance so your hair smells amazingly fresh after being washed.
After a week of trying out the John Frieda Luxurious Volume I was very impressed. Not only did my hair feel thicker and fuller, it was also super soft and shiny. The shampoo worked well at removing the styling products I use. The conditioner left my hair feeling very manageable, with no tangles in sight, and it didn’t weigh my hair down.
Have you tried these out yet? If so what did you think of them?
Stay Beautiful xx

Mr KME 'fragrance Collection' 2014
A little while back I told you about my perfume collection {LINK}. With that in mind, I thought it would be nice to share with you the fragrances Mr KME uses. Again like me he has quite a few so I’ve listed them as I did for mine; I'll then be back at a later date to tell you more about his favourites.
Now lets get started…..
* Tom Ford - Noir edp
*Tom Ford - Grey Vetiver
*Jil Sander - Pure for Men
*Jil Sander - Man
*Jil Sander - Sun Man
*Dior Homme
*Dior Homme Intense
*Jean Paul Gaultier Classic
*Bruno Banani - Dangerous Man
*Bruno Banani - Made for Men
*Bruno Banani - About Men
*Vera Wang - Men
Mr KME wears all of these, selecting a fragrance to either match his mood, type of clothes, particular event, or time of day. For his everyday fragrance, I know he goes through stages of wearing a particular one for a few weeks, then he’ll swap to something else. My all time favourite from his collection has to be Jil Sander ‘Pure Man’. It’s the fragrance he wore a lot when we first met so it’s always a trip down memory lane when he wears it.
What is your favourite fragrance your man wears? I’d love to know x

ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzer
I’d seen a lot online about the E.L.F Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder so I was eager to try it out. After a fair amount of research, I opted for the shade ‘St Lucia’ as it seemed to suit fairer skin types like mine. Upon its arrival I took it out of the packaging and swatched it on the back of my hand. Now, I must say it takes a lot for me to be truly disappointed in a product, and sadly this one didn’t live upto my expectations. This is marketed as (and I quote) “Creating a healthy and natural glow year-round”. So after trying this out several times, with different foundations (high-end and drugstore), here are my thoughts:-
On my skin, which is fair but in no way pale, it looked ridiculous! Obviously bronzer is used to create accents and contours around the cheekbones, temples and jaw line. Unfortunately this product did not seem to blend well, so I was left with a patchy looking face. Its consistency is very chalky and feels (and I hate to say it) cheap. When sweeping my bronzing brush over it I also found the bronzer had lots of fallout which just makes a brown mess everywhere - yuk!
The only good thing I have found in the E.L.F Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder is the blusher. It’s a gorgeous rose-gold shade that suits my skin tone now, and will also look just as nice in the summer months when I have a tan. I found the blusher lasted very well and didn’t fade out as the day went by.
Overall I’m disappointed and I can honestly say I won’t be using the bronzing powder from this palette, which is a shame as it’s such a waste.
Please let me know your thoughts on this product and let me know if you’ve had similar issues.

Review - OPI Sheer Tints
If you’re looking for something a little different for your nail polish, then might I recommend the OPI Sheer Tints.
Sheer Tints (ST) are very sheer jellie style polishes; they can be used for pretty much anything. You can wear them on their own, layer them over other ST shades to create a new colour, or use them over your regular nail polish to create unique shades.
I found the polishes to be a little on the thick side, so I had to apply them thinly and wait a couple of minutes between layers when wearing them on their own. This isn’t a major problem if you’re wearing them over one of your regular nail polishes; you just treat it as a top coat. This may just be a problem with the mini sets, I’ve not used the full size bottles so couldn’t say what they’re like; I know from previous experience they can vary.
My current favourite is ‘Be Magentale with Me’ which is a sheer pink tint. This looks lovely over natural nails. One coat gives nails a healthy sheen, three coats provide a deeper pink tone. The set also includes - I’m Never Amberrassed an amber yellow tint, Don’t Violet Me Down which is a sheer amethyst shade, and I Can Teal You Like Me a beautiful teal blue tint.
I’m very much looking forward to experimenting with these over the coming months. I have some ideas up my sleeve so make sure you look out for some ‘Nails of the Day’ posts.
Have you tried the OPI Sheer Tints? Which is your favourite?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable
Today I’m reviewing the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Rendezvous. This particular product from Revlon is a lip balm come lipstain all wrapped up in this one chunky pencil.
Revlon says - Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood.
I’ve been testing this out over the last week and here are my thoughts on the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Rendezvous. This product has a light mint fragrance to it which so upon application I felt a lip tingly sensation. Rendezvous came out the exactly the same colour as the actual balm stick, which is a nice coral orange stain. The nice thing with this stain I found is you can also build the colour up for a more intense look. It applied very easily and felt incredibly moisturizing. Over the course of the day though I found my lips felt very dry, when I checked my lips the colour had sunk into the dry skin, which obviously doesn’t look nice. This certainly did stain the colour onto my lips and once I had reapplied the RJBK my lips looked a lot better again. I would say its just one thing to bare in mind when purchasing this product.
Have you tried the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable's? I'd love to know if anyone else has had the same experience as me.
