Umberto Giannini 'Glam Hair' Collection

Here is my latest shampoo and conditioner love from the Umberto Giannini ‘Glam Hair’ collection.

I’ve been using ‘Ditch the Dirt Volume Shampoo’ and ‘Plump & Sexy Volume Conditioner

Let's dive straight in and talk packaging. I just adore good packaging on products, and if it looks well thought out, I’m more likely to spend my money on it! The ‘Glam Hair’ collection all come in sleek black bottles with a striking silver image on. It’s very eye-catching and you wouldn’t confuse it with any other product on the shelves out there.

Now for the fragrance. This is a hard one to describe! I wouldn’t say its fruity, there is no distinct citrus or berry scent coming through. It’s more of a warm exotic spicy smell. Mr KME says it reminds him of an expensive perfume. Whatever it is I really like it, but it may not be to everyones taste.

Did I end up with voluminous hair? I wouldn’t say I had a lot of volume in my hair; however my hair did feel a lot thicker and healthier after using these products. Overall I’m very impressed and would buy these again.

RRP £5.61 each

Discovery Club 5th Edition Box

By The Fragrance Shop

A few months back I told you about The Fragrance Shop Discovery Club box. A perfume samples box that not only contained 5 samples to try, but also money off vouchers for the fragrances.

Today I’d like to tell you about the 5th Edition Discovery Box. This box consisted of not 5, but 9 perfumes to sample (6 womens fragrances and 3 mens); a special treat to celebrate the Discovery Club’s First Birthday.

The 5th Edition box contained the following fragrances;
Jean Paul Gaultier - ‘Classique’ EDT
Nina Ricci - Nina EDT
Gucci - Gucci Guilty EDT
Thierry Mugler - Angel EDT
Thierry Mugler - Alien EDT
Givenchy - Very Irresistible EDT
Hugo Boss - Hugo Man EDT*
Hugo Boss - Boss Bottled EDT*
Issey Miyake - L’Eau D’Issey Pour Homme EDT*

Although I have a couple of these already, this was a great selection of fragrances and I was certainly not disappointed. Also (as expected) the Discovery Club Box came with a discount booklet of vouchers worth £45.

This was my second Discovery Club box, and so far I’ve been impressed with the selection of fragrances provided. The Discount vouchers are also a nice touch, helping you get stocked up on your favorites!

Have you ordered a Discovery Club Box? If so what did you think of it?

Crown Professional 78 Palette

I recently bought the Crown Professional 78 Palette, and although I wasn’t planning on reviewing it (it was a work purchase for a photoshoot), it’s so good I just have to share it with you!

Inside what appears to be a very plainly packaged palette, you will find all you will ever need to create beautiful eye makeup and more…..

The 78 Palette contains; 72 highly pigmented eye shadows in a selection of matte and shimmers, plus 6 cheek colours. You will also find a good sized mirror and 2 double-ended sponge applicators (which I haven’t used yet). The 78 Palette is also a reasonable size, its hard to imagine when looking at a picture online, but I was pleased to find it isn’t too big. Not that I’m saying it’s small because it isn’t...it’s just right :)

I have had a great deal of fun with this palette. It has the perfect combination of colours so you can create subtle, dramatic, bold and bright eye makeup looks. Seriously I’m sure the options are endless!!!

RRP £22.99

New Year, New Hair

Well the new year is here, and this called for a new hair style. My hair has been long for years (literally!). I’ve had short layers cut in, blunt fringes, side sweeping fringes and every time I’ve ended back where I began.

My latest visit to my hair stylist couldn’t have come quick enough. I’d decided to have several inches cut off, and was driving Mr KME crazy going on about it.  Although I felt nervous about having so much cut off (and then having to deal with it at home) I can safely say its been a joy so far…….!

So without further adue, here is my new hair cut,

I’ll be bringing you some new hair tutorials for styling which I hope you will find helpful.

Be back soon xx

KORRES Lip Butter - Jasmine

I’d been looking into Korres products online for some time now, but never really got around to ordering anything (you know how it is!). So when I discovered my local Waitrose store stocked Korres it was inevitable I would buy something from their range.

I settled for a Lip Butter in Jasmine.

This time of year my lips dry out terribly, so I’m always on the search for a new product that will combat drying and cracking. I will admit I chose this purely based on its fragrance; a sweet floral scent which isn’t overpowering. Korres Lip Butter is slightly tinted, and mine being Jasmine it leaves a pretty nude gloss on my lips. The Shea Butter content ensures great moisturising, although it can be a bit sticky if you put too much on.

The packaging is also a big plus for me. It’s stylish and well thought out. I particularly like the ‘box in a box’ design, it gives it a very expensive feel. I think it’s perfect if you’re making up a hamper of beauty products for a friend.

Unfortunately I can’t find my receipt, but the website shows a price of €9,70 (at the time of writing). For more details about the Korres Range check out their website.

2013 Favourites

Some of you may remember back in January 2013 I published a favourites post, featuring the products I liked most from 2012. Well this January is no different, and today I’m showing you my top products from 2013.

First up is my favourite haircare range, this was L’Occitane’s ‘Radiance & Colour Care’ range.
This range was amazing. Anyone familiar with L’Occitane products will know how concentrated their products are!
“This haircare collection is designed with coloured hair in mind. Containing 5 essential oils, that all help leave your hair feeling beautifully nourished and healthy looking.”

Next lets have some makeup…….This would have to be the NYX Round Lipstick in ‘Indian Pink’. I’ve probably worn this lip stick more than any other since I bought it.
NXY Cosmetics says -
"NYX Round Lipstick is our classic lipstick for all-year round. The mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvet texture, saturated colour and it resists wear and smudging. It's your go-to lipstick"

Lets look at my favourite nail polish from the last 12 months. This has to be the OPI 007 Bond Girls ‘Liquid Sand’ set I bought.

This set was the first I’d used from OPI’s ‘Liquid Sand’ range. At the time I wasn’t over keen on the gritty feeling that was left once the polish had dried. However the more I’ve used them, the more I’ve fallen in love with them. I should also mention that they’ve been a hit with my clients; they seem to love ‘Liquid Sand’ polishes.

Last up I’m going to show you my favourite fashion look for 2013. I feel it’s safe to say this is my go-to look when working. I feel most comfortable in these clothes :)
This is My Work Style

There you have it, some of my 2013 favourites. What were your favourite items from last year, I’d love to know.

Happy New Year
xx
