Rimmel 'Lasting Finish Blush'

Here is my latest ‘go-to’ blusher.

This beauty is the Rimmel ‘Lasting Finish Blush’ in 050 Live Pink.

The colour is stunning! Although it looks very bright in the packaging; when you apply it to the skin it comes up as a very pretty pink.

The Blusher’s soft texture also makes it easy to blend over foundation, and the colour builds up if you prefer a more intense finish.

I found the blush lasted extremely well. Rimmel says it lasts for upto 6 hours, and I’m pleased to say I can confirm this (even with the humid weather we’ve had lately).

I was very impressed with the ‘Lasting Finish Blush,’ and would consider it a good contender for high-end blushes. The only downside for me is that there isn’t a wide variety of colours.

Available in 4 colours

RRP £3.99

NEXT - Animal Print 'Foot-bed' sandals

Please let me introduce my newest footwear love......

I’m totally aware we are heading towards September, but I do have a holiday coming up so I feel buying sandals is completely justified (I can hear my husband sigh).
While in NEXT (shopping for our niece's birthday present) I happen to have slipped into the woman's department - I’m sure you all understand how that can happen!

I spotted these pretty sandals and loved how comfortable they felt. They’re called  ‘Footbed Sandals’, and have support for the underside of your foot - around your toes and bridge which is very important. The soles of these sandals also have very good grip. Sandals can often feel unstable and unsafe on slippery surfaces (think Bambi on ice), so having good grip is a real bonus.

They have this fabulous T-bar in a ‘horse hair’ style leopard print. These have an adjustable buckle to help them fit perfectly around the top of your feet. As well as a leather sole, making them super comfortable to wear every day.

I love them and feel they are a steal at £17.

You can find these online and instore, but hurry I think they will sell out quickly!!

My Latest Haircare Routine - YouTube

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I have a lot of hair care products. My main hair problem at the moment  is lack of volume; ever since having Little Miss my hair has thinned out and lost some of its volume.

Fortunately my box of tricks has grown steadily over the years, and I seem to go through phases of using certain products.

Today I want to share with you my current favourites for boosting volume in my hair.

Essie - Fair Game

The weekend is over, so lets start the new week with a manicure!

This week I'm wearing my newest nail polish, Essie 'Fair Game'.

Those of you who are familiar with my blog will know that I'm very fussy with blue shades of nail polish. The colour needs to have the right combination of tone and depth for me to be happy with it. You will also notice that this polish has a shimmer; an almost metallic finish which brings out the cool tone.
This one by Essie hits the mark perfectly....

Do you have this colour?
Have you found another shade of blue you prefer?

Real Techniques - Core Collection

Although a little late, I finally bought myself the Real Techniques Core Collection brush set.
After much deliberation I settled on this fabulous set of makeup brushes.

The Real Technique brand was developed by Pixiwoo’s Sam Chapman.
As a professional makeup artist, Sam set out to develop the perfect makeup brush collection.
Her intention was to make it easier for women to create the perfect look.
Real Technique state that all their brushes are 100% cruelty-free, with bristles made from Taklon (which is synthetic).

The Core Collection consists of 4 full size brushes;

  • Detailer Brush: Precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas, or use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition.
  • Pointed Foundation Brush: Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage
  • Buffing Brush: Ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation
  • Contour Brush: Delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish.

My favourite brush from this set is the Buffing Brush. Without fail I use it every day to apply liquid foundation, and to buff in my blush or bronzer. I absolutely love it. So I can safely say I wouldn’t be without my Real Technique brushes, and I’m now looking forward to buying some more to add to my collection!

You can find Real Technique brushes in Boots (online and in-store)
Core Collection retails at £21.99

L'Occitane 'Precious'

These are still my all time favourite facial moisturisers!

I was given these in sample sachets and liked them so much I just had to buy them in full size.

First up we have the L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Fluid. This day cream is wonderfully light and soaks in very well. I found this is perfect as a pre-makeup base, since it leaves no residue or greasiness.
Precious Fluid is ideal for anyone out there with combination skin, as it won't clog your pores!!
RRP£29 / 30ml

Next is L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Night Cream. Prior to trying the sample, I had NEVER used a night cream. The first morning after using this cream, I immediately noticed  that my skin felt softer and smoother. The cream itself is very thick so you only need a small amount, making it well worth the money. Again this cream doesn't clog your pores so even someone with oily skin can use it.
RRP£49 / 50ml

Be back soon with more from L'Occitane

Essie 'Cocktail Bling'

I picked this up a few months back and forgot to post some closeup pictures.

This is 'Cocktail Bling' (203A) by Essie

nail polish, essie, blue, grey

On first glance this colour looks grey, however when you apply it to your nails you can see more of the blue/lavender tones coming through. This was a pleasant surprise, as I was slightly worried the colour would not look right against my skin tone.

If you don't have this in your Essie Collection, then my advice is to go and buy it.......now!

IsaDora 'Perfect Moisture Lipstick' - Part 1

The lovely people at IsaDora Cosmetics kindly sent me the Perfect Moisture Lipstick Collection to try out. This collection has a wide range of pink, red, and coral tones; available in frosted and satin creams.

I've been trying these out over the last week or so and have been very impressed. These lipsticks are incredibly moisturising, and last longer than I expected. I applied my lipstick in the morning (around 8:30am) and didn't need to reapply until after lunch (2pm). Although some of the lipstick had worn off, I still had even pigment on my lips.

Since I have 10 colours to show you, I’ve split this review into two parts.

In the photo above you will see the first 5 shades that I’m going to show you.
Working left to right these are:

141 Hot Neon Pink / 47 Summer Red / 115 Frosted Coral
149 Flirty Fuchsia / 163 Coral Glow

This is how they look on....

141 HOT NEON PINK
47 SUMMER RED
115 FROSTED CORAL
149 FLIRTY FUCHSIA
163 CORAL GLOW

I'll be back next week with the second part of my IsaDora 'Perfect Moisture Lipstick' review.

Stay beautiful xx
